The idea of making music together came in 1999 from Matteo Cuva (Teo) and the former singer, Matteo Morlacchi.
Quality levels are very low at the beginning, having very little skill and experience.
Things begin to work when Andrea Huber Pizzaballa (bass) and another guitarist join the band, but still a drum player was missing.
The turning point is the arrival of Alex Paganin, drummer of the thrash metal band Critical Damage. The guys begin writing songs and
is given its first name, Silver Day. 2001 is a year of great changes: Matteo Morlacchi is called up and the band recruits Ivan Bonomi,
screaming vocalist with brutal death metal attitude. It was his idea to use both screaming and growling voice, and thanks to him the band
is given the definitive name: Brutal Murder.
Between March and April 2001 several singers are auditioned: Marco Piras prevails, entering the line-up, and with his contribution sound gets heavier,
yet with some melodic touch.
In April 2002 another guitarist, Matteo Barbetta, joins the line-up.
21 March 2003 is a great day for Brutal Murder: after a long wait, they release the first album VIOLENT ORGASM.
May 2003: the band is still searching for a new guitarist due to the defection of Matteo Barbetta.
January 2004: Brutal Murder plays at Tobys pub, Soncino (CR). The band is called at the last minute to replace a Slayer cover band,
no time to rehearse but the show is a great success anyway! Audience and musicians are well satisfied!
In March a new guitarist enters the band, Fabio Personeni, who brings into the band influences taken from other metal genres, especially swedish death metal.
At the beginning of October 2004 Brutal Murder register their 8-tracks full-lenght CD INTRACRANIAL TOTAL INSANITY.
Meanwhile Brutal Murder go on with intense live activity that lead them playing with important bands of International and National metal scene like
Necrodeath, Bowel Stew, Funeral Rape, Stillbirth, Irreverence, Aleph, Decadence, Spellblast, Zaburon, Unholy Land, Stormlord, Eviscerate, Blasphemer, Nobody, Torment and more...
In 2005 the band has to face hard times, as both the singers leave them, Ivan in April and Marco in September.
Anyway, the four keep on writing songs meanwhile they try different singers until the finally meet Ivo Marcandalli, who becomes the new singer, thanks to his great vocal flexibility.
In December 2005 Brutal Murder publish "INTRACRANIAL TOTAL INSANITY".
Since Tuesday, the 6th of June 2006 Fabio Personeni is out of the band. The resolution has been taken by mutual consent, due to the different music preferences.
In March 2008 we have begin to tape our third full-lenght, entitled "Death Squad".
Finally, in August 2008 a new guitarist, Fabio Marasco, joins the band.He brings into Brutal Murder a old school death metal influences.
In December 2008, Ivo Marcandalli decides to leave the band, to go one with his other project.
