Abdicate is a brutal death metal band from Rochester, New York. They formed in 2007 by Yeti (Vocals) , Brian (Guitars), Lewis (Guitars) , Rich (Bass) and Alex (Drums). They play straight forward brutal death metal with low comphrensible growls notable to Suffocation, sludgy guitars and mid paced to blasting drums.There influnces range and some of their songs, particulary the new material, sound alot like guttural slamming death metal oreientated. Their main influences are Dying Fetus, Decrepit Birth, Flesh Consumed, Exhumed, Cannibal Corpse and Gorguts

They released a full-length on Severed Records called ’Relinquish the Throne’ in 2008.

In 2009 ’Forged in Ruin’ was realeased through Severed Records
